My mechanic is gonna check my fuel injectors and says they may need to be replaced. He suggested oem, but that's way out of my budget. My Ram 1500 is not a daily driving truck but a back up. I'm looking at spending $350-$1500 for a set of oem injectors(8). But I'm seeing sets for under $100($30-$80 for a set). I mean if I had to replace the injectors 6 months to a year later, I would be satisfied. I really would like any experiences on this. Thanks. 2007 Ram 1500 2WD. v8 4.7L SLT

Well, buying Chinesium injectors is a crap shoot. Yo "might" get a decent set but then again, maybe not. I tried the "cheap" route with O2 sensors a year or so back and they brought a new meaning to trouble. Things that you'd never expect.
I'd go with originals or at least Rock Auto quality.

Odd that all injectors would be bad, and that would cause a miss on specific cylinder(s).

Has fuel pressure been checked?

Even a weak battery can cause cause weird stuff.

If a cheap injector sticks open,it doesn't take long before you're looking to rebuild the engine,as it takes out that cylinder.Injectors aren't something you want to cheap out on,as they can destroy an engine in short order.
You can clean and check them at home pretty easily, and just replace the bad ones if you find one or 2 duds

I bought a new battery(from Walmart-I know...), and he check the fuel pump, filter, and check some fuel line on the motor. He asked for something to put gas(he asked for carb starter fluid, but I didn't have any) in but not sure what he did but he pour a spoon of gas on something around the motor.

I ran the codes on my scanner. I'm gonna list what I think may be relevant to the issue.
P0688, P126E, P126B, C1002, U0019. There's about 10 more seems to be related to the radio, cargo lamp, and lost hvac, etc.

I don't see a lot of problem with Walmart batteries. The one that I have in my van is over 6 years old and despite freezing solid last winter, it is still going strong.
Walmart batteries are made by a name brand manufacturer and just apply their name to them.

DTC storms are very common with a battery on the fritz.
They stand out because they identify many different unrelated systems.
That, or you have a locked-on module spewing garbage data onto the CAN bus system.
The battery is much easier to test than unplugging modules and resetting the network after each.

And, troubleshooting a potential electrical or DTC fault with a compromised battery is a truly bad idea that will lead you down the garden path.

Load test your battery with a toaster-style battery load tester like this $18 unti from HarbourFreight. Don't be fooled by a digital tester used at most parts store, they're prone to false positives.

One guy does the diagnostic testing, and he sends the mechanics to do the jobs. So,(based on these codes that I shared here) they're thinking it could be the(I think P0688 code) ECM is needing to be replaced and would solve everything. So to be sure the first guy is coming back to do a diagnostic test($110), and if that's what it is the second guy will replace it($200 labor I think). For the part I'm looking at $300-$700 I think. Gonna look around for that ecm.

That sounds distinctly like a parts cannon approach.

Read post #10. A faulty battery or a module polluting the CAN bus trumps all best guesses.
Keep in mind, we see these types of faults multiple times per day; this isn't anything unusual.

I was going to use the "shotgun" approach to diagnostics but you said it better with the parts cannon!
I think that neither of those guys, the tester nor the actual cannon operator actually have a clue. Maybe a half a clue between them but ..........

The tester guy mechanic is scheduled to stop by to do the ecm diagnostic test tomorrow. I have a ready to be programmed before shipping ecm on hold for $300.
Hagar1, not sure what you mean by the cannon thing.

Some people throw a big box of parts at a problem hoping that something will stick and fix it. I've always been a "test, don't guess" kind of guy. That is how I always taught my apprentices. Every diagnostic should be able to be "backed up" with test results fact.
Maybe I'm just old fashioned.
