I have 2 check engine codes right now P0740 and P0764. Torque Conveter and Shift Solenoid C according to my Haynes book. I'm 99% sure the t/c code is because of the shift solenoid. My question is what does the solenoid do (idk much about trannys) and is it the same as the Transmission Control Solenoid on NapaOnline?

p0740 is a DTC related to improper torque converter clutch engagment. it could be and electronic issue related to the pcm or it could be hydrolic. the two could be related in which case check your valve body. replacing the governor solenoid and the pressure sensor could fix both problems.
