Shifter light issue on cluster

Hi,
I have a 2004 Ram SLT and I have this issue where sometimes my shifter lights fade out and sometimes they return in a few minutes sometimes not.There are times if I shut it off a few minutes later they are normal when I restart it.It definitely has a mind of it's own lol.I had it looked at at a trustworthy garage I know and they mentioned maybe cluster issue.Weird thing is I have noticed at times applying brake pedal fades the light out and as I said sometimes the lights light back up in time sometimes not.I'm disabled now so I can't do the work myself,just looking for some input.I know what gear I'm in it just annoys me the light don't show.Thank you in advance for any advice

I still have not fixed this. One thing I saw said I have to re solder the connections on the back of the cluster.
Another site said its in the steering column.
