Well this morning I got to work. Took all I had to get the shifter out of drive into park. When I did finess the shifter to park the truck thought it was still in reverse. Now I can't get the truck to shift from park. Had to turn the truck off to get the truck from stop rolling in reverse, and also to get into work on time. Big problem is now that the shifter is stuck in park and the truck thinks it's in reverse I can't start my truck now. The local dodge dealerships are useless. Has anyone run across this problem ?

BTW 2013 sport with 6 speed

Crawl underneath the drivers side of the trans and see if the gear selector linkage thing is jammed and try moving it by hand with the truck off. If you can move it get a buddy to sit in the truck on the brakes so when you shift it from neutral or park into gear you dont get crushed.
These things can get jammed in rust and **** but normally its on vehicles much older than 2013

Sounds like a linkage problem due to it being so hard to move the shifter. If that's the case, disconnecting the battery is not going to help your issue at all.
Good luck.

I'm surprised that his shifter actually moves a linkage. I thought they were all electronic.

I opened the little access port beside the shift and pressed the button (used by tow truck drivers to shift the truck to neutral while the engine is off). It kicked out of park and slid into neutral. But basically stuck there and took good force to get into park, and also into the same problem as originally posted. Took me 3 tires before my shifter finally shifted from park to drive back to park smoothly. I am taking my truck in tonight.
Bought the truck in Feb of 2013, it has 96,450 kms on it. Didn't think I'd be having these types of problems

Now that you mention it, I think your right! Showing my age with that mistake!
