I just purchased a new 2025 RAM 1500 Big Horn Quad cab and I'm wondering if the RAM mobile app is worth downloading? I read through the features the app provides, useful but stuff I can live without, I'm overly cautious when it comes to downloading apps on my cell phone. When I downloaded the Toyota app after buying a new Camry I was consenting to allow Toyota to monitor and sell my driving data to third parties so I ended up deleting the app. I really don't want me car spying on me even though I realize they're probably spying on me anyway even after I deleted the app. Is the RAM app similar? In that once you download the app and take advantage of the features you're consenting to allow RAM to monitor and sell your data to third parties?

I downloaded it right after I bought my 2025 and never use it. I did download the full owners manual onto my laptop, though. I use the fob to start the truck on occasion.

I have it, and really dont use it. We are an all FCA household, so it is loaded with all of our vehicles. So I thought I might need it sometime, but since my uconnect expired it isnt all that relevant. I can check if there are any recalls, see when my warranties officially expire, and some basic service history.

Like above, until recently we were an all FCA household. (Our daughter just traded her Challenger for a Buick:rolleyes:). But I have the APP on my phone for the RAM and Durango.

I check it weekly for Health reports on both vehicles. And Recall info.

Have the full download for the Durango, since my wife drives that. She can not only lock and unlock the vehicle from her phone. She can also start it from the comfort of home or her office. To let it warm up in the cold.

The APP can be useful. And never really had an issue with Stellantis selling my info to a 3rd party. If they’ve done it, I haven’t noticed.

Pretty sure the truck can monitor your data without the app being installed, they can just get extra data from the app installation as well. I had the app when I first bought my 2018 to use the free year of Uconnect. Afterwards I removed it since it was not useful.

I think you're probably right about them securing data even if I don't download the app.

That satellite system in your vehicle spy’s on you all the time. How do you think they catch all the idiot criminals when they know the make of a vehicle. Your cell phone is just as bad. Been like that for years.

I downloaded the app back when it was MOPAR.com. It's fairly useful for the things already mentioned, checking vehicle health report like engine oil life remaining, fuel remaining, location (helpful if it gets stolen or if you authorize/don't authorize someone to use your vehicle), and other stuff like start/stop, lock/unlock, etc. You can also access your uConnect account, SIRIUSXM radio account, Navigation Maps upgrade (waste of money), and other dealer-centric features. It's free, helpful and I'd personally recommend it. Like others have already said, they're already tracking you anyway. You'd might as well derive some benefit from it when it's available.

Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts and experiences regarding the RAM app, much appreciated. I guess I'll download the app.

The black helicopters are tracking us 24/7 anyhow, so what's the harm in DLing the app, LOL... I like the app because I can remote start my truck when it's out of keyfob range. Really nice in hot/cold weather...
