So, I found a badass 2007 (newer body style) Silverado for sale. Its got the rare 6.0 vortec max in it and they are only asking 15,000 for it. Its very tempting because ive been wanting a Silverado for awhile now but one hasn't really stood out enough for me to part with my ram until this one came along. The chevy is so clean and nice and has 367 horses under the hood! I don't know if I can pass that up. Its also from texas so there is no rust at all for the most part. What do you guys think. Ive had my ram for a year and I love the thing but this chevy just seems perfect. Let me know what you guys think!

How many miles? I just know I'd never be happy with the interior of that truck, they were quite outdated. The 6.0 is virtually bullet proof but everyone I know who had one consistently got 10-12 mpg. Then again I've become a bit of a mpg snob with my ecodiesel.

Just more stuff to break. At least with this one you've got your work cut out for you.

Chevys like breaking things like CV axles, front diffs, tie rods and various plastic pieces in the interior.

I'm not saying they suck. I'm actually a GM guy that has recently bought a Ram. BUT you never know how hard that truck has been driven, taken care of, etc. etc. In the end it's really up to you. Be leary of the dealer thing though. They will do everything in their power to **** you. Just sayin.

No I understand completely lol Im just saying that I think its a little better than mine right now. I need things done to it that I really don't wanna mess with. But hey who knows, I just contacted the dealer tonight so we will see what happens tomorrow. 367 horses would come in handing pulling my camper though lol

Good luck! Keep us updated on what you decide. If you go GM, I know of a good forum that I was a part of before now.

The Vortec engines are bulletproof, 174K miles is nothing i sold my '03 back in 2012 and she had 206K miles and the engine was still strong and had no issues.

if you really want the truck go for it, nothing is perfect and a used truck/car/SUV can have issues so just read up and prepare your self.

the weak point of the Silverado in my opinion is the trans so keep an eye out for the shifting during the test drive. but they are super cheap to re-build and make stronger.

If you meant that as you wrote it, you're trading no payment for a payment, for something that's 'a little better' than yours tight now. If I was making payments I'd feel better doing payments on something with less miles, no matter how bulletproof the engine is. But that's just me of course. I've been where you are, as far as having the new car bug, and it is a strong pull. Just let us know which way you end up going.

It looks clean but $150000 is a lot for nearly 200k on the odometer in my opinion. Even if the motor is solid other things start to wear out with that mileage. Hell, I saw a 4th gen ram 4x4 with 165k on the odometer ther other day for $13500 around me the other day.

^^^I would agree. That price seems pretty steep considering the mileage and being 7+ years old. Do what you feel is best for you, but I would hold off for something else.

An extended cab truck with 200k? Pffft, that's worth $10k tops

Walk away.
