I had turn on my defroster for mirrors this morning. It didn't appear the driver side was working. Stayed wet but the passenger side was dry. Got out of truck and felt them and they felt the same temp, ambient. Any way to check this?

Sounds like there's a shorted wire pulling current. Check all the connections that go to the trans to make sure that they are not pinched off and shorting against metal.

Simply check to see if there is power at the connector on the mirror glass. If there is power, it could be a failed heating element on the glass. That is the most likely cause. If you are still under basic warranty, just take it in.

Anyone tried the dealer for this?

Is it going to be one of those deals where you take it in, wait for an hour for them to say "we have no idea if its working, we have to order a part ... come back in a week"??

It is pretty easy to tell if it is working or not and should be very easy to diagnose. But what do you expect them to do if they don't have the part?

Yeah? How's that Master Tech? Fog it up & see if it'll clear up? Or, were you supposing the wonderfully skilled & careful Techs were going to access the connection behind the door panel & break out the ohm meter.

How about take the customers word upon scheduling the appointment and order a replacement "before" they arrive so to reduce some frustration from having to deal with **** poor quality in the first f'ing place.

Haha You might know what you are talking about, but there are way too many customers that do not have a clue but think they do. And you cannot expect them to order a switch, door module, mirror glass and a wire harness because you call and make an appointment because your heated mirrors don't work. I'm not the one that built it either. I just try to fix them.
