First i will tell you, one type of mirror turn Brown after a while
I forget whether it is the Auto Dimming or the Heated glass

To remove the mirror glass, in the 2009 to at least 2016 ..
pivot the mirror, so that the top is fully facing the ground
now you should be able to see the area behind the mirror glass
Put on some gloves
now take your index & middle fingers of both hands & place them on the backside of the mirror to a position just at the top of the motor, put your thumbs on the face of the mirror glass.
Next, give the mirror a test tug towards you chest/neck area,
you are just trying to get the top two clips to release, if they did not release, give it just a bit harder tug

notice the two top clips form the shape of a U, they are next to the long silver fingers, they snap over the top of the motor.
You are trying to release them.
Then the 2 lower clips release when the mirror glass at about 35 degree angle & then just simple wiggle & lift the mirror glass out.
If the current mirror glass is unusable, remove the 2 fingers from the mirror, they are not for sale anywhere.
Once the mirror glass is removed
wipe off any glass & dirt
Notice on the bottom inside of the mirror housing, almost in the middle. You should see a lever or catch, if the were to be moved slightly to the side, i am quite sure, that the signal light is held in place by the clip
