The stock Alpine system has 8 channels that need to be summed for a full signal. Has anyone had any positive experience with the Audison Bit One? I was going to do an Audio Control LC8I then equalize the signal through an EQS, but might be leaning towards the Bit One. Any other really good options out there?

Helix is a great DSP as well and after playing with my Mosconi 120.4DSP I think I am going to get Mosconi 6to8. Other great ones out there to learn with are Alpine H800 and JBL MS8 cause of the auto tune functions. Oh and Logic7 is pretty cool.

I have only used the MS-8, but my experience was really good. I know it is a bit cheaper now too.

I just had a full system done based around a Bit One. If I use the digital input (from my iPad through a Pure dock) of the Bit the system sounds great. If I use the head unit (which feeds the Bit on seven channels taken after the Alpine amp) the sound is only fair. The issue is that the Alpine is not putting out decent voltage in certain frequencies.

I'm planning to try a couple of things as time and money allow:

First I'm going to add a couple resistors to the outputs from the front. There is a post on DIYMA that shows the Alpine putting out better voltages with a small load on the wire. If that fails I'm going to try putting an LC8i between the Alpine amp and the Bit.

Hopefully that will make me happy with the sound so I can finally enjoy my system.

Does the Bit One not have resistors built in? For an advanced signal summing device you think they would have done this. This same issue has been common on Chryslers for years now.

Im concerned that the Bit One didnt make your system sound superb. I would expect it at their pricepoint. Hearing things like that is very disconcerning. Almost to the point of making me want to purchase the Alpine x009-RAM radio for 3k (if it worked for trucks with the 8.4an).

Im kind of in a tough spot; what do I need to do to get great sound? It used to be so easy...

I'm almost to the point of looking to swap out for a non-Alpine head unit that still has all the other controls. The Alpine thing is just a name badge and add nothing but problems.

I absolutely agree. Im debating on adding a regular head unit in addition to the factory system.

You will have to gut everything for this to work and run new wire either from an aftermarket amp or from the head unit. Its not an easy swap.

Wouldnt be all that hard. I just want to make sure the end result is great sound. Id like the LC8I or Bit One to work well though.

It really wouldn't be hard and forgive me my head is still stuck in early 4th gen radio's and the alpine system. I forget you guys with the 8.4s can't readily change headunits. You are right it wouldn't be any worse than what most of use do now with aftermarket gear.

Well I can attest that the Bit One/Ten works great with a non alpine 8.4a. I couldn't be happier with my setup.

Thats great to hear. Was it difficult to setup/tune?
