So I need to convert from a single to dual exhaust setup. I'm not looking to do an aftermarket setup at this time, I'm seeing plenty of stock setups for a cheap price to hold me off for now.

I have a 2014 with 6'+ bed. I assume I may need to take that into consideration. What else do I need to know about the exhaust I am purchasing off another 4th gen?

Perhaps a rear bumper with the dual exhaust cut outs. I’m looking to do the same and I have been meaning to check and see if we have the passenger side rear hanger for the exhaust pipe. Other than that I think should be good to go.

Make sure you get a dual exhaust from a 1500 quad cab 6’4” bed, the same configuration you already have.

All oem exhausts are the same from the muffler back, just don’t get one from a Ecodiesel. I swapped my single factory exhaust out for the factory dual exhaust. The only thing you really need is the isolator for the drivers side. The dual exhaust with oem tips will fit just fine under the non cutout bumper, or you can up grade to a cutout bumper.

Doesn’t matter, everything from the muffler back to the tips is the same... they change the length of the pipe between the y pipe from the engine to the muffler.

The exhaust on my regular cab came from a crew cab truck.

like said previously everything from the muffler to the back is the same.

To install the dual factory you will also need theses on the driver side
Isolator 52103718AB
Isolator 52103717AB
Hanger 52122572AA
Bolt 06104390AA

You can angle down the tips under the factory bumper while you look for one with the dual cut out.

So I have to ask why do you "need" to convert from a single to dual?

I got new front and rear paintable bumpers to replace my chrome bumpers. Rear bumper has the dual exhaust cutouts. Found a dual exhaust setup from a 2015 for $50 bucks. Need to know what I need to expect to do before purchasing.

Yes, I do have hangers on both sides of mine.

Thanks. I knew the bed was important. If for any reason I get it from a truck with the smaller bed, I suppose I have to have some extra pipe added to compensate, but that seems it would not be too difficult?

Thanks everyone, I apparently forgot to add this thread to my watchlist. Hopefully this setup I am seeing for 50 bucks is off a Hemi and 6'4" bed and is still available.

there's 2 hangers on the driver side, so you need the one I listed added if your truck was originally a single exit truck

Thanks, I assume I only have 1 hanger and that's all I recall ever seeing.

Looks like I can score the dual exhaust for $50. Came off a Hemi, but was a 5'7" bed. So, I need to add some extra pipe to extend the length to fit my 6'4" bed, shouldn't be a difficult/costly endeavor. Thoughts?

No, it doesn’t matter the bed size, it will fit no matter what bed length truck you get it from.... just don’t get one from an Eco Diesel.

Can I ask where you purchased your new paintable bumpers from?

Ok. I apparently read through your response the first time and interpreted the bed length stipulation incorrectly. Thanks @stimpy433.

This will definitely not be the answer you were hoping for, lol. Got a like new set off Craigslist for $150 bucks. I got lucky, very lucky!
