My free subscription to Sirius XM expires next month and I want to extend it. I have been receiving offers from Sirius but have been told to hold out and let it expire and they'll offer you a better deal than their initial offers. Any truth to this and, if so, what kind of offers have you received?

Yes let it expire. Tell them you was thinking of subscribing but the cost was too high, they will give you a good offer the longer you hold out. I got mine extended for one year at $99.

Yeah, I tell them with apps like Pandora and I Heart radio, SIRIUS XM isn't that great anymore. So I get the top plan for $100 a year.

I pay $30 every six months. Kind of annoying to call but I like to save my pennies.

I always let mine expire and within a month get a call to sign back up for $79CDN for the year. The last time as soon as it expired they phoned me and I just told them, not interested in spending more than the $79/yr plan I've had in the past and they gave it to me for that.

I've been doing the 6 months for $30 also. Not sure it is worth it anymore...sound is compressed and tinny, plus the programing is the same songs over and over! I keep it just to avoid listening to snap, crackle and pop FM radio!

yeah i got mine for like $70 for the year. as mine was getting close to expiring they started filling my mailbox with offers.

i'm actually up for renewal in another week or so. planning to call them and say i want it at the same price or i want to cancel. hopefully they will just do it so i don't have to sit around waiting for their offers to show up

They're sending me offers in the mail for 6 months at $30 or 1 year for $99 but it's not the package i want. Think I'll just wait it out until i get exactly what i want.

not sure if you are gonna get any better. I searched the hell out of this bc my free trial is just about up and my wifes $99 a year just re-upped at the $14.99 a month. I'll be calling to "cancel" that shortly.

seems like $99 for a a year or $30 for 6 months on the middle plan is the only deals i can find.

I think i'll just do the 6 months for $30 and call every 6 months when they try to re-up it at $14.99 and threaten to cancel.

It's true...and slightly annoying. They will call and email all the time.

$24 for 6 months here. I refuse to allow them to keep my card on file, so they can't renew it at the full price rate.. Its kinda a Pia every 6 months but my understanding is once they have permission to auto renew its a gigantic PIA to get them to stop.

this is what i pay also. i have been doing this for almost 5 years now.

i have them send me a bill or use one of those pre-paid visa cards

with the bill after the 6mo is up they send me a new bill for full price i call and threaten to cancel and the lower if dont match the previous price.
