In my quest to fix known issues I am trying to locate and make sure the sliding rear window drains are open. My understanding is there are 1 or two under the sliding rear window itself and one at the far R & L side of the lower channel under the cable retaining clips.
OK how does one remove those clips. One result from my searches said to push them out of the tracks. Nice idea but these look like a chevrolet bowtie emblem with the slanted ends cut straight.

I have spent hours searching various topics on this journey and am longing for a FSM .
TIA for any input

Those clips are a pain to get out. I was able to get one side loose on my 2017 only because someone else had had it loose before. The other one I couldn't and didn't want to break it so I just angled an air hose blower nozzle uunder it and blew it out. With a little luck, you'll see the stuff blow free out behind the weatherstrip outside.

I believe that there are 2 drains

From what i seem to remember,
If you were in the trucks bed, you could take a small mirror & you were to take something like a Plastic tool, like a slim TRIM TOOL

Slide it along the bottom edge of the rubber sliding window trim.
Between the cab's sheet metal & the rubber,
You should find the 2 drains.
You may even find them by squirting water along the INSIDE cab channel of the sliding window itself.

Chances are good you will see the water dribble out & run down the outside of the cab

I'm hoping someone will confirm that I have opened the sliding rear window drain holes. I found two holes on each side of the channel under the cable guide T blocks which were a PITA to remove. I used a 1/8" or so wide x ~ 1/16" thick (each side) pair of tweezers sliding 1 blade in near the bottom of the drain channel towards the front, And then doing the same towards the rear of the channel.
I was then able to gently pry one side of the T block up a bit. And do the same on the opposing side.
There appeared to be some sort of adhesive but only on 1 side of the block. I'll will attach pic's of the block and the two holes under each one (L&R)
I cleaned the holes out with a paper clip and then a aerosol can straw adapted to a compressed air blow gun.
After doing the above I cleaned the lower window seal using the thin end of a bondo spreader running the fill length of the bottom of the window. lots of dirt and debris hiding in there. A fine design by some JO. I cleaned the inside slider channel as well.
puhing water in the 4 holes with a syringe had it coming out along the gasket as well as the 4 or relief slots
I did not find any holes in the channel under the window itself when open. So I'm wanting to make sure I did not miss them if there are any there.
hopefully the pic's and method used will help someone else wondering how to get the T blocks out as I was. DO NOTE the ribbing on the L end of the block which I believe is supposed to clamp the cable housing as it exits the block>
The drain holes are in the last pic.

My question may have gotten lost in all my babbling on the previous post

I'm hoping someone will confirm that I have found and opened ALL the sliding rear window drain holes.
I found two holes on the far L & R side of the channel (for a total of 4). They under the cable guide T blocks which were a PITA to remove (see above post).

Also cleaned under the Lower outside window seal
TIA :happy160:

It does show the sliding window drains from back then & he added more drains

thank you. iI had seen or read others that mentioned drains under the sliding part but that may have been a different generation truck. If I have to go there again, I will likely open the holes up a bit with a dremel. Might add a few as well but for now they are open . I want to thank you for being a regular responder :happy160:

I did find one video that shows the locations pretty well but the one I was looking for the guy actually has red nozzle straws in all 8 holes which was quite helpful. they are hard to see and best found with BOTH cables removed from the lower track. FFW to about the 7.5 minute mark
