Hey guys. Not sure if there’s a thread in this or not.
I’ve got a 2016 ram 2500hd, laramie. Got a 2.5” carli levelling kit and wanting to go 37” tires with it. Tossing up the idea of doing 18” rims, or 17” rims. Done lots of googling but there’s mixed answers on whether or not a guy can run aftermarket 17” and clear the brakes with them.
18” rims would clear, but I don’t have a set of those rims at the moment therefore I’m hoping 17’s will clear. If anyone’s cleared 17” rims on their dodge I’d highly appreciate to hear how it is and how it went. Thanks!

Only one way to find out. As it sounds like you have the 17’s already jack up a tire pull it off and put one of your wheels on to see if it clears the caliper

Just throwing something else out for you to consider- if you’re gonna be daily driving this rig on 37s you may wanna stick with the larger diameter wheels so that you have the ability to upgrade to a big brake kit down the road if you ever felt like you need it

like was said power wagons come with 17". AEV wheels are perfect for running up to 40" tires as they have the perfect offset. you just need to make sure your tire installer has experience as on the inside of the wheel they either need to use the lip style weights or thin stick ons. on the outboard side there is plenty of clearance. My tire shop has never had an issue but I have read some shops have tried using double stack stick on weights and those get knocked off. I will say the wheels themselves are very balanced and true when run on a balance machine without a tire.
