I've looked into this, more than a bit.....
I found that an "All Weather" tire was the way to go, for me. That's different than an "All Season" tire!!

I was going to go with the new, Falken Wildpeak A/T4, which are different than the A/T3, which are so popular.

I landed upon the Nokian Outpost nAT (also, the newer version), which shows more promise for my driving conditions. Check 'em out!

UPDATE: I am the OP so I figured I'd update the thread.

I got the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2.

I was going to buy them from my dealer as the annual "buy 3, get 4th tire for $1" promotion was running. (This is essentially a 25% off sale.) About a week ago I set up my installation appointment for Thursday the 7th. Ten minutes later the dealership calls back and says they only have 3 tires in my size (275/60/20) I asked them to order another one for me, but said they couldn't get any more of them! WHAT?

I got my dealership quote saved on my phone and went to Discount Tire on the 7th. They honored the special pricing. They said they only had three of these sized tires in stock but should be getting more some time today, like maybe in the next hour as they constantly have couriers bringing tires to their store. I took my chances and sat down to wait for the install to happen. Sure enough, about a half an hour later my tire arrived. Total time at Discount Tire was a tick under 2 hours. I also have their extensive add-on benefits that I wouldn't have gotten at the dealer.

First thing I noticed is they are quieter than my OEM Goodyear Wranglers (28K miles.) Also no more squealing when making routine right turns on dry pavement. The ride seems softer but that could be my imagination.
