Hey All,
First post and grateful for this forum.
On my previous '15 1500 crewcab I installed Tyger running boards without any problem. After it was stolen, I found another '15 1500 crewcab, but wanted sturdier boards. They came in and when I went under to get started, I notice that the foremost mounting hole has something gold colored that appears to be threaded. The bolts that came with the new boards are too large to fit. I can install one clip, but that won't be strong enough for these heavy duty boards. In looking over various images on the web, they appear to be oem mounting parts, but I'm not sure. It got dark before I could take photos, will post tomorrow. If they are, how are they removed so I can get both clips in?

Thanks in advance,
Donnie Davis

They are the factory installed rivnuts for installing the oem running boards. I'd just use the ones that are installed with the correct size bolt and use the hardware that came with the running boards for the other holes.

They are M8 threaded, and the easy option is to pickup a set of bolts and use them. They can be drilled or dremeled out but are a PITA the butt to remove so most just leave them rattling around behind.
