Ok guys, I've just started my install on my new to me 2012 red wings edition. The question is, who here has deadened twitter front doors? I has mine all apart today, but didn't want to take the inner plastic shell off the front doors. Has anyone done it? Is it worth the hassle?

Everyone says taking that inner door card out is a pain in the a$$. If you take the speaker out and then open the little flap on the plastic door card, you can reach a good bit of the area back there to deaden effectively. I think this is what just about everyone does.

That's kinda what I figured. Today was just the preliminary exploring phase, to get a good idea of how I want to install my 3 way component set

Like Rambo said, pulling the door card is a pain in the ass. I have had mine off twice in the past for other issues and I will never do it again, lol.

Here is how I deadened my doors:

2 layers of CLD as far as I could reach through the speaker opening. Sealed it and applied CLD on the door card, and CLD and CCF on the woofer enclosure.

100% coverage CLD on the door panel, and 100% CCF on the door panel.

Yup, if you wanted a model to go by, David's would be it.

What 3 way set did you go with?

I'm not fully done yet, but I ordered 100 square feet, and anticipate probably another 30 or so

gtsoundcontrol.com usually has great prices on bulk amounts, I think I paid $110 for 100 square feet
