Would a 35in tire fit under the bed where the spare tire is?

I am going to a few long traveled trips this summer and don't want to be without a spare. So I was hoping to put a 35in tire on the spare rim. without sacrificing bed space,

is this possible

Some say yes some say no. I haven't tried it. Here's something to consider though. Many cars don't have a full size spare and use a smaller tire as the spare. Your spare tire at stock size would that for you. Just use it until you can get to a tire shop to repair your bigger tire

I am quite sure that you can Google your tire on a site like Tire Rack. You should be able to get all the specs on the tire you currently run. Then, lower your OEM spare and measure the cavity. Should give you a very good idea. Running far or at high speeds with a mismatched tire is never good and having "Road side assistance" is no guarantee that the matching tire can be found for your vehicle if replacement is necessary. Especially on a weekend or night. Also, having the matching tire, you can get more life from "all tires by using a 5 tire rotation.

Drop your spare and put one of the wheels onto the spare rack check it out for peace of mind. That way you know for sure and can buy yourself the proper set up. You can also look at a rack for the hitch to hold a couple of set ups. Add a compressor to and some basic stuff to a road kit for long trips [emoji106]

Space savers are typically narrower, but the same height and effective rollout. If his oem tire is a 32 or 33 and you throw that in the mix with a 35 it had better be a real short drive to whenever you're going.

As for it fitting, If you have a hitch its pretty tight as is, if not you'll have a little more wiggle room.

I'm in the same boat . . . It sure looks like it will fit up there . . . I was told to never run a mismatched size in 4WD, and never on the rear if you have a LSD. My Toyo's are 34.5" diamter. I'm going to snag a black wheel from Summit, and a used 275/65R20 from Ebay, and give it a shot.
