Hi guys,

I've run into a problem changing the spark plugs on cylinder 7 on a 2006 Ram 1500 5.7 MDS. I can't get the spark plug swivel socket to seat on the 2nd plug so I can remove it. The first plug was easy but the socket just spins on the second one and won't grab the plug. I searched online for this particular problem and couldn't find anything.

Any suggestions, or is it just the Champion spark plug curse. None of my previous vehicles liked them and I wouldn't use them so now they're getting even with me -- haha.

Thanks for your help.

Just spitballing here, since this happened to me on a Traverse I had. Is it a coil-on-plug setup? Check the coil, and make sure the contact spring is still in the coil. One came loose from the coil on the Traverse, and the socket jammed the spring between the insulator and the well.
