You can replace just the blown speaker, but I usually like to do them in pairs just so I don't have to worry about the other side blowing.

In addition, most speakers come in pairs.

Regular cab yes, price isn't the issue as much as finding something that sounds as good as the factory speaker it's replacing

Well I've seen a couple people having dept issues with speaker replacements, as well as custom mounts for 6x9's and other sizes. Because I haven't had the pleasure of working with speakers in our trucks yet, so I can't say anything for sure. Personally when I do my speakers however I'm going with Alpine or Infinity's speakers. My dads 03 Ram has infinity's and they sound great.

Honestly I'm not even sure at this point crutch field shows 6x9s, and 6.5s. Forums say the same two sizes. The only thing in common in seeing is to watch for mounting depth.

Unless they did a revamp of speakers the doors should be a 6x9, now you can put a 6.5 in its place by making adapters for them.

If that doesn't work check crutchfield easy webpage and great tech support. The front doors are 6x9s not all 6x9s fit due to mounting depth. Crutchfield has a guide enter your truck and it will tell you what will fit. I'm not sure about 2011 but from what I understand the 14's and probably 13's are low end kicker speakers unless you have the alpine system. Just about any set of speakers over 39.99 are most likely better that stock. Alpine, kenwood, infinity, kicker, Jl, jbl, rockford fosgate, Sony, Boston acoustic that's just a few any will work.

Local audio shop recommended Rockford R169X2. It's a 65watt RMS 2 way. Thoughts?

I have no clue. What's your time worth?

15 bucks plus whatever shipping would be ? There is also a mopar kicker upgrade which sounds very nice and is plug and play, thats what i did. They were designed for the RAM so you don't have to worry about depth or splicing, they are plug and play. However the are about 120 a set depending on your factory layout. The OEM ones sound ok but they lack in little in mids and highs but that all depends on who is listening.
