A few years back I bought an SPod system to run my auxillary lights. It cost me about $900. The first one melted down on me and they sent me a replacement so I was happy. Since then it seems the company was acquired and the new company doesn't support my device (or pretty much any device pre-acquisition). My SPod crapped out on me. I can't even get it to go into the setup, and nothing works. Long story short, I think I'm SOL there.
I'm in need of a replacement. I really liked the single hook into the battery, digital screen, the phone connectivity, and the ability to set my aux lights against 8 switches. But I can't find anything like that nowadays. It's looking more and more like I have to do the wiring the hard way and run wires to the cab for everything.
So a couple of questions:
- Has anyone seen anything similar to the SPod on the market that lets me run just one wire into the cab and simplifies installation?
If NOT
-what is your favorite aux lights wiring solution? I looked at AEV but it's bigger than I would like and I actually use that spot on the dash.
- Where are you mounting your switches that you love? The AEV goes over the center of the dash. I've seen others that I have to actually mount it to the dashboard (which I'm not a huge fan of), or mount to the ceiling (which is more trouble than I think I want to take on myself).\
Just looking for ideas. If you have any pictures of how you've mounted your switches I'd be very interested in getting ideas as well.
