Sport hood crazy expensive...

So my sport truck didn't come with the sport hood. I'm looking to add it but they are crazy expensive.. like $1,000 bucks at the dealership. Anyone know where to get an oem sport hood on the cheap?

Yes I did search but most posts on this were pretty old.. was hoping some oem copy was out that's cheap or something..

My sport came without it. For two non-functioning ducts, I couldn't see spending that kind of green.

yeah no way im spending 1,000 bucks on that.. but still would like to have it though if I can find one cheap. VERY stupid of RAM to make the sport hood an option on the sport truck.. should be standard and an option for the other models.. oh well. I knew before I bought it that it would be an expensive add.

Maybe try an auto wrecker. You might need to be lucky to find one but you never know unless you try!

I've wanted the sport hood as well but can't justify spending the coin for just the looks.

I would stay away from Extreme Dimensions....never tried any of their stuff for my ram, but seen a ton of their products in the import scene....99% of which had HORRIBLE fitment.

Good to know, but the price difference kinda sent a red flag for me but just thought I'd share the findings. I still want to find a steel one to modify as a functional scoop used as heat extractors for the engine bay

strangely my Sport left the factory with the hood but without a window sticker I was none the wiser when the dealer took it off and replaced it with a regular hood. The dealer name you say Renfrew Chrysler Calgary Alberta. Ha

I actually wanted a Sport without the Sport hood.... I felt paying the $850 was a waste of money as it was non-functioning.

I ended up giving in as they cold only find me one with everything I wanted with the hood.

Haha...I can attest to this..unfortunately.

Back in my ricer days I actually had a couple body kits from ED on some eclipses I owned and yes, they sucked. Fitment was horrible and customer service wasn't much better.

This was back around 2002. May have gotten better, idk.

This is exactly what I wanted to do as well. I found a picture of it but thanks for the video link.

You may have some luck by posting a want to trade (WTT) in the classified section of this forum or Craigslist. Some folks don't want the sport good and will do an even trade for color matched.

Not that expensive when you consider a set of sport old skool halogen lights cost about the same from dealers for a pair.
