Since I installed the bilstein a my truck squeaks like a fat lady's wheelchair. Checked swaybar and top strut but..all tight. I rock the truck in the drive and hear nothing. When I drove its constant with the road bumps, high pitched and drives me insane. any thought??

In my past experience with this I have been able to hear it when I bounce the truck, like a bushing or something. Take some WD40 to your front bushings just in case to see if it goes away. I had to do that every few weeks to keep mine quiet.

Also check if you have tire rub anywere. Rubber to metal would be a squeak. Squeaks are so annoying.

Good luck finding it.

No rubbing for me unless I'm locked out on hill in reverse..I'll check the bushings.

Could be the top shock bolt. Maybe not torqued enough..Have to take entire strut out though to check which sucks..but i have seen ppl complain about it

How tight should it be? Anyone tell me how many threads they see above the bolt?

The thread count won't give you the torque. You will need a torque ratchet.
When I was younger I used the forearm torque but know I swear by the real thing.
Have you tried the wd40 thing. It should help you find the squeak.

I just had mine installed last week & I have noticed a very slight squeak from time to time when I'm driving slow and have the windows down. Luckily it's so faint that I cant hear it with the windows up. Still annoys me that i know its squeaking though! On the other hand though, I did hear a louder "clunking" noise this morning when I hit a larger bump. Didn't sound good but haven't heard it again... Does yours ever do that?

I have the exact same problem! The front left squeaks when I go over a bump in the road. I've had my bilsteins on for about 2 months now and they squeaking just started 2 weeks ago. I rock my truck back and forth every day when I get home and I cannot pinpoint the squeak. It's driving me crazy.

It is under warranty yes. But I know that once I installed the Bilsteins, this noise evolved. I cant wait to get my Suspension lift lol.

I could not stop laughing reading this thread only because I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!

I have the Bilstein 5100 and RCX 6" and upfront, primarily left side there is a high pitched squeak every time I hit small bumps. I rock it and cant seem to find it. Drives me absolutely insane.

Hopefully one of us will find the cure. I plan on taking the whole front end apart here in a few weeks once I am moved into the house.

I will find this squeak.... :893Chainsaw-Smilie-
