Starter Failure

anybody have a starter fail in a ‘18 cummins?

Apparently starters are on back order, 3+ weeks to get fixed under warranty?

I've been hanging out on this board pretty much daily since 2014 when I got my Ram and I can't remember hearing of one failing. The fact that it takes 3 weeks to get one is further proof that they aren't going out often. On my vehicles 20 years ago starters and alternators seemed to come up about every other oil change. I'm thinking you are just unlucky and got the purple unicorn.

Thanks. Hope thats the case but can’t believe the time to get a replacement. Or that chrysler wont overnight one or pull one from a vehicle on the lot.

I bought my 2000 Cummins in Nov. 1999 and replaced the starter last year with a NAPA one after 190000 miles. The starters are a lot more durable than the ''old'' days but 3 weeks seems a bit long.
