I bought a new damper on Ebay but its different from what I took off the truck (05 2500 4x4). Its a Bilstein damper, but on one end it has a stud in the hole on the left end instead of two open eyes. Now they are telling me Bilstein doesn't make one for my truck after their information says it fits.
My question is, has anyone else used Bilstein on my type truck or has anyone tried removing the stud? Thanks for any help.

I found the answer to my question.
The steering recall was done before I bought this truck. The recall updated the system to 2009 style which requires a damper with open eyelets on both ends.
Posting this in case anyone else runs into the same problem.
