I thought my Ram 2500 was having alignment issues and it turns out my steering is loose and mechanic is pretty sure it’s the gear box. Got 2500 miles left under warranty but I do have a aftermarket CAI on it. Will the dealer use that against me? Should I be too concerned that my 2017 already having this issue? Thanks

You'll be fine. Intake and steering are completely different components. Now... if you're running 37's with 20" wheels and a crazy negative offset... they *might* question that. But otherwise, it should be covered.

Member on here with 1000 miles on his truck blew out the seals in his gearbox and was warranted.

No, that should not be an issue. They would have an impossible task to prove that the CAI caused a failure of the steering box.

Well got the ole “everything looks fine” reply from the dealer. Truck drives normal for 30,000 miles and then start having steering problems. Technician said he has seen this for years, all Chryslers do it. Drive in right lane, truck will go right when steering wheel is straight. Drive in left lane, truck will go left when steering wheel is straight. Drive in center lane, truck will drive straight. Again, I had a mechanic that I trust say steering is loose and he thinks it’s a gear box issue. Drove home down a 2 lane road today and truck literally goes off the road when steering wheel is straight. There is no way that is normal

^^^^I had leaky gearbox on my ‘99 (still under warranty). The service advisor looked me straight in the eye and said it was normal. I asked it’s normal to leak power steering fluid, he said that was the was the way Dodge design it.
I told him he was a lying idiot.
Bought a seal kit and did it myself.
