Stereo Options

This may be a stupid question, but how many different stereo options are there? I have the 8.4" w/ nav but not sure which system I have. It's not the HK for sure. I believe I have 3 dash speakers, 2 front door and 2 rear door speakers. Is this the Alpine that I have? Thanks much!

I know in the 4th gens the alpine equipped trucks had a little alpine badge on the upper dash (right below the windshield, center of dash pad). I know I've seen the HK designated in this same way/location on the upper trim level trucks, can't recall if they are still doing the same with the alpine's though.

If you don't have a crazy amount of speakers, I would say its alpine. Also you can verify by going to this link, just enter your vin number at the end of this and it will bring up your build sheet:

Yep, 5th gen. is the same, there will be prominent Alpine lettering on the rim of the center dash speaker.

That's odd, I know some other 5th gen guys have used it and it has worked. If that's failing though I do believe you can still request one through Ram, maybe via the dealer? Perhaps if there's a contact area on their service site you could request it there as well. I like having mine on hand, no reason in particular but its nice to see what you have.

It may have the base system, I'm not very familiar with the stereo's in these, I know the HK has some crazy amount of speakers and I believe the Alpine would be 9 or 10? Someone correct me if I'm off on those figures.

The Alpine system is 9.1 and the HK system is 19.1.

@stepbill and others in the future that may be trying to look up their build sheets, I just saw someone else here mention you need to type your vin in as follows: When you plug in your VIN use caps and no spaces or dashes or you will get an error code.
