First post... boom.

I'm looking for the stock specs on a 2015 1500 outdoorsman with the 8.4A as far as watts, and RMS power, does it have an amp, ECT? I'm picking this thing up tomorrow and sound is my first priority. it does not have the upgraded Alpine system, just the 6 speaker setup. I plan to swap out the stock speakers asap but would like to match the speakers to the correct power coming from the headunit/amp. I've been reading all night and there are many opinions out there. Just curious as to what i'm dealing with in stock form.

Thanks

I think you are going to have a hard time matching speakers to the stock power. Anything you buy is going to handle more power than your head unit puts out.

I have or should say had the same system and there is no amp without the Alpine upgrade.

Best spec to look at with new speakers would be Sensitivity rating, the higher the number the louder they will sound with the same wattage.

Also be aware that your dash and front door speakers are wired together in parallel so you may find more gain with just one set of good door speakers and not running the dash ones, or for a big step up in sound get a set of component.

More than likely you will have a Clean 7w rms so nothing really to write home about. Give us a budget and we can help put a setup together that would impress you and impress your wallet.

Well I went with all JBL stuff.

These for the front and rear doors
JBL GT7-96 GT7 Series 6"x9" 3-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

And these up front
JBL GX302 3-1/2" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

I talked to a guy at crutchfield for about an hour this morning and that is what we came up with. I do not plan on adding an amp to the system, and he recommended based on power ect. Those speakers are 1/10 of an inch off for fitment, so thats why is says it does not fit the vehicles. But he said it should be no problem.

Now i just need to find that Kicker sub and box for the back seat that isnt $699 and will work on a 2015. 8.4A.

^^ he beat me to it. almost all stock radios are 5-10 rms watts. even aftermarket radios are only 10-20 rms. they all advertise their max power, but 99.9 % never see max power. also if you dont have the factory alpine you dont need a fancy DSP all you need is a basic LOC.

im a huge fan of simple setups. i ran the same setup in 4 cars/trucks and it sounded great in all. i would use a 4 channel amp. 2 channels went to a set of components up front and 2 -12" woofers in the back. run the rears off of deck power.
