Hey guys! Long time no see!

Alright, so, to get down to the story i gave my dad my truck back in may until he could afford to get a new one, and i just now got it back but it has a slew of issues now (thanks dad.) All can be fixed, but I'm really interested with what's happening to the tranny.

Long story short, I've always had a bubbly fluid issue, i managed to "fix" it (or at least make it better, it wasn't as bad then or at least i don't think it was) and when i got it back and ran through all the tranny tests and making sure the fluid was level i noticed that although the fluid level was good the entire dipstick was coated in foam. After sitting and letting it idle it was fine and the fluid cleared up, I'm just curious as to what could've caused this because its been driven 12K miles on foamy fluid. The shifting is weird, but its always been weird and i mainly attribute that to an engine performance problem. I've checked CVIs, and they've remained the exact same since before i gave it to him. I need to drop the pan and do a fluid change, but I'm wondering if there's anything else i should be looking at for?

Ever see fluid move under high psi? It is violent. Old fluid can have defoamers denatured, but was the transmission really warm when you tested it? Like driven for an hour plus?

OEM's have a silicone type thing you add when they see it, an additive, I wonder if Mopar has that. What is the current fluid?

First thing is to check you have the right amount of fluid.

transmission fluid choice can help combat foaming, from machinelube

from link..
The most common antifoam additive used in detergent oils is based on silicone

mopar does offer this... not sure if that is for transmissions as well.
what's weird is that the last time i took the pan off back in may (or maybe april?) the fluid had bubbles in it and there were bubbles on the trans valve body despite the truck not being used/on for a few days. i think that fluid might still be in the tranny as it was only 1 fluid change. i have the steel filter thread for the canister filter, haven't put it on yet as i've been a bit busy. but i defo think it's fluid related as i think if the valve body was leaking that badly into the case it would set a cel.
