Lost a lifter and plan on doing a complete rebuild. While I’m at it I figure a few mods would be fun. Has anyone stroked a 5.7 and if so any lessons learned? Good or bad

Not sure of anyone with a ram but rt life on YouTube did it and it's pretty healthy.

No problem. There is also Arrington performance they have 392 based 426 short blocks for 5900 iirc. Your heads and everything would bolt right up.

I did an Inertia Motorsports 5.7 based 392 stroker build on my previous car, an 08 Charger R/T. With my tuner, we were able to get right on 500RWHP and 500RWTQ, but that was the limit of the build without spending a ton more. All told I was in it easily $15-18K, but that also included suspension, brakes, wheels/tires, trans work, rear diff upgrades and paint and body work.

Lessons learned:
1. Be prepared to spend more than you think. Whether it be for supporting mods or you “go down the rabbit hole”
2. Buy whatever you can second hand to save costs
3. Reuse anything you can
4. Make sure you get it built by someone that knows these engines
5. Tuning is key once it’s all built
6. Smiles only last as long as a tank of gas, set of tires, or anything else that has the potential to break with the extra power. Have some rainy day money set aside for that.
7. Research research research. Check online forums. I would say definitely look into the LX platform forums (Chargers, Challengers, 300C) as this is where a lot of the companies out there started their businesses off the car based 5.7, 6.1 and 6.4L engines.

Good luck on your endeavor, post up progress and let me know if you need any further insight.

Don't be afraid to buy a book, get some tools, and do it yourself! If you build it, you will ***.

Here is a 4" stroker rotating kit that will get your started:

I haven't done the math, but I think you'll still be somewhere north of 10:1 compression with that kit, so cam it up and be sure to get into the meat of the flow with lifts around .600". Texas Speed will CnC the Eagle heads for around a grand and if you cam it enough and spin to 6500 you'll make loads of power.

Oh yeah, and according to those that know any of this stuff will EXPLODE the 2C, 4C, and overdrive clutches in a stock 65RFE transmission.
