Im looking into getting a sub for my truck and Ive picked out which one I want- Kicker - Comp 12" Single-Voice-Coil 4-Ohm Subwoofer - C124.

Now my question is, what kind of amp do I need. Im only gonna hook up a sub to it, but I dont really know anything about audio stuff. I dont need that much bass, just a little. So ive been looking at BOSS. Are these any good? Also would there be any advantage to getting one that says 1 x 800 W @ 4 Ohm as opposed to 1 x 750 W @ 4 Ohm since the sub says 300W peak power.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, i dont know much about this stuff..

Convert, for now.

small
No BOSS audio...the Comp woofers are single voice coil, and come in 4 and 8 ohm. What's your budegt on amp? You can find a pretty small amp to power a Comp. Or look at the Kicker PT10, which is a powered 10" already in a truck box with amp.

Much easier, and simple.
Kicker - Bass Station 10" Single Sealed Enclosure with Subwoofer - PT10

be sure to read the reviews.

thats pretty cool, but im gonna be putting it under my rear seats, so that wouldnt work. Im just looking for a cheap amp that would work with this and wont crap out on me in a week. It doesnt need to be anything crazy powerful

I have two Kicker Comp 10" run by a single Kicker 400.1W Amp. Not expensive, and gets the job done. I didn't want crazy bass + I listen to country a lot. Just added those low notes in which I enjoy.

Edit: Mine are also under the back seat.

Ah, is he only getting one? Saw that it was going under back seat. Figured it'd be both in the box under the back seat.

op , I had the kicker comp c124 like the one you posted and it was the biggest POS I have ever had . And I am a kicker guy

Went back with the Kicker comp VR .. much better sub in 12" and paired it with a kicker 400.1 amp .... beautiful sound

ok, i think ill go with the 10" comp VR Kicker - CompVR 10" Dual-Voice-Coil 4-Ohm Subwoofer - CVR104 That should be plenty of sound for what I need.

would that pioneer i posted be enough power for what i need. its says "RMS Output Power: 400 W" which is what the sub is, but i really dont know what this means lol. I dont want to spend a lot on a amp since im really not that crazy with loudness and all, just want something to power this sub
