ok, ok... so I am stuck on which way to go. I am piecing together a full system using some new and used pieces. I was set to purchase two very slightly used Alpine type Rs 12" for $275... guys has receipt bought less than 2 mths ago and still installed for demo. NOW, two JL W3V3s 12" show up, about a year old for $150... also still installed for demo purposes... They will be going into a fox box. I'm leaning to the type Rs but should I consider the JLs?

Well, no denying that that both the type R and the JL a both quality subs, the one big difference is the type R are going to require some big bid power to drive them. I would go with the JL subs for the outstanding/ tight bass, without requiring huge power.
