my '16 sport CC has the factory sub box on one side- the passenger side. I like it that way so I don't have to go around the truck to get stuff. I also have the small storage lockers in the floor, so things you want to put in the rear seat storage might fit there.

I wish I had those, but I don’t. If I did, I’d be slamming 2 subs under the seat for sure.

Don’t have fold flat either.

I have a jl stealth box with 2 10s now, but it takes up everything under there. Sounds decent, but for the price never again as I feel hustled by their claim I could retain the fold flat. I modified to make it work ok, but the hustle is they say retain the floor. Turns out that means you can leave it installed, but can't use it. In my 3500 I had a custom fibreglass with 1 12 and it worked good, but I had to take the 40 out of the load floor and it would have been a bit better if I'd lifted the seat a bit.

I’ve posted this before. I have a single JL 12W6V3 in a Net Audio passenger side box with the amps mounted on the wall. Net Audio also makes a single driver’s side box. You would have to check the specs to see if your existing sub would fit.

A cool idea would be to build a custom box behind the seat that used one or two of the JL TW5v2 thin subs. That would be more of a “sell your current stuff and start over” though.

Why dont you just use the storage compartments in the floor with the plastic lids for all that stuff? Thats where I keep all my straps, recovery rope, jumper cable/emergency kit etc. Then I made a new sub box so I could keep my fold flat floor in addition to my Alpine sub/system. I don't go under the rear seats ever as I have a car seat in the back which I dont really ever remove so I can't fold the floor up except on the driver side. It would almost make sense to put the sub on the pass side like stock, that way if you have a car seat you can still access under the driver seat (70/30) if you have storage. But like I said I don't need the storage as I put everything in the cubbies in the floor and have easy access to it under my mats.

heres what I got. The Kicker sub is nice but $$$$$. I have $100 in the kicker sub new from crutchfield, apline amp pushing 300w RMS $60 off ebay new but run about $100. And I have $40 in the box which took 6hrs to make and $40 in 8 gauge welding wire plus resettable breaker and Scosch LOC. This is in conjunction with the stock 100-150w stock sub box with an upgraded pioneer sub. The alpine amp for the new box is right behind the box under the rear seat. I can still put stuff under the backs of the seats behind the boxes and use my fold flat floors

Works great and makes a good thump :)

Guessing you didn’t read through all the post?

I don’t have the storage compartments in the floor, nor the fold flat.

I have an Express Quad Cab, which does not come with those.

I have no need for a car seat, my kids are 14 and 18.

I read through, just wasn't aware that the quad cabs don't come with the floor storage... that sucks. Maybe just keep a "instacrate" in the bed with the straps and stuff in it? I use a crate under my bed cover to hold hitches/tools/extra straps and hitches. Or are you using the whole bed or its not covered?

Otherwise you will need to add 1 sub in either side, keep it low or you will need seat spacers. Unfortunately there is no other place to add subs... some have fit a self powered 6-8" sub/amp box under the seat/seats. But I couldn't fit one I had under my heated/cooled seats. The pass side you prob could but would have to remove the jack etc. I have a 6x9 JVC 125w self powered 6x9 sub and its decently loud but I wouldn't put it in the same bracket as even a small 8" sub with a amp in a decent box.

He's running a 4th gen quad cab. That's for a 5th, but foxacoustics does make a few boxes for his truck that go on either or both sides.
my bad...

You have a write up on making the box? I may try that to get what I want. All the single boxes I am seeing are stupid expensive or cover the cup holders.

I put 2 12s under the seat. For my jumper cables and two tow straps, I rolled them each up, zip tied them and have them hanging in the bed of my truck with bungee cords. I'm using the tonneau covers support bracket that's closest to the tailgate. That way when I open the tailgate, it's all right there, along with a 5 gallon can of gasoline.

Oh, and my amp is under my drivers seat. I like it there because it's less of a wiring run from the battery and I can easily adjust any of the settings on it, if need be

Can't fault a guy that's wanting to carry jumper cables. I always liked the idea myself. But that said, I've gone a different direction with the "jumper cable" issue. Got one of them mini-battery pack units for jumper service. It lives in my center console in its little carry case. Doubles as a flash light, flashing warning light, cell phone charger, electronic device charger etc. This is the one I have. Only used it once so far to start a Honda Odyssey mini van and it worked great for that. Really like the cell phone charging feature too. Put one in my wife and daughters cars too, just in case.
