Sunroof and rearview mirror

Yo! I'm new to the forum and as a Ram owner. Just got a 2012 2500 Mega Cab and have a couple of questions.

1. How far should the sunroof open? When I do the express or manual open it slides back and stops, but it looks like it should or can go back another 3 inchs or so. The sun shade does. I have a VW rabbit that did the same thing to eliminate buffeting sounds on express, but you could twist and hold the knob and it would open completely.

2. What is the sensor on the front of the rearview mirror? I'm talking about the side that faces the windshield not he sensor that faces you. Its about a 1/2 inch or so square.

Yeah. The sun shade can retract completely into the roof, but the glass leaves 2-3 inches. It just looks like it should go all the way. As stated before my Rabbit will open like that on express to reduce wind noise, but you could then adjust it completely open if you wanted.

Sensor on the back of the mirror is the autodimming I believe or the uconnect that picks up your sound

Welcome to the forum! The sensor could be for the rain sensing wipers too if you have that option.

that sensor is the one that faces the back window, he has a sensor facing the windshield

They do this so it does not get loud in the cab try it with it all the way open I bet it makes crazy loud noise as the air comes inside rather than going over top.

The sensor facing the windshield is a rain senor for auto wipers.
