With either the tow tune or the performance tune in now getting 9-10 mpg... This is a solid 2-4mpg drop. I'm running 93 octane.

Any thoughts? It has new copper plugs and a k&n. That's my only change.

Thanks!

I don't think. I putt around like an old man most of the time. I've actually been consciously trying to get better mpg an been barely making 10. Before it was making 11.5-12 no problem... Not sure what changed.

When were the spark plugs changed last? Could they be worn enough to make a difference here?

I just did the plugs. But the mpg dropped before that and didn't come back after.

Haven't cleaned the tb. I'll try that. But it seems to directly relate to the sc

if you just put around, i would put it to the 87 tune and save money on gas. The 87 tune is still more performance than stock.

That is strange, I see the best MPG gains with the perf tune, enough so that it justifies paying 30 cents more for the 93 octane fuel...

Now there is one thing I've noticed that might relate, I find the Hemi has a sweet spot that's up around 1800-2100 rpm and I actually get better gas mileage cruising around at 2000 rpm than I do at say 1600 rpm, thank goodness I have 4.56 gearing that helps keep me up in that rpm band. Might could be you're driving TOO MUCH like grandpa.

Also, did you reset your PCM after the CAI addition? I find that helps too...

Thats weird. I seem to get the best fuel economy when the torque converter locks up and im running around 1600rpm. It's a dog when accerating, but my overhead console reads better.??

Are you getting worse MPG via pen and paper or the overhead? Did you do a reset after the plugs? If you are getting a drop in MPG on the performance tune you'll see much more of a dip in the 87 tune. How long ago did you swap tunes? Run a few tanks through the tune? 91 tune gave me. 2mpg increase with superchips, 91 with the dsp have me an additional 1-2mpg.
