Suspension differences between 1500 models

What are the differences (if any) in the suspension set ups between the Rebel trim and all other trims (SLT, Laramie, Big Horn, etc)? I’ve always heard that Rebels sit a bit higher than the other trims. Is this correct? I ask because I’m looking to convert to a conventional set up vs. the air bags. For example, if I purchase struts for an SLT but put them on my Rebel, will I lose height? I want to stay at the normal to highest level that the bags provide.

First recommend you do a search about air bags and also deleting them. Lots of discussion over the years on this topic.

If your Rebel has the air suspension, the ride height is set by the air suspension. I think with conventional systems systems there was a difference with the spring perches that would change the ride height.
If your converting from the air suspension to conventional, you'll need to do any suspension lift at that time.

Could be because the guys that might know aren't on here,or reading your post,so you might have to do the experimenting yourself

I did a search before I suggested it, the first hit included the following:

"To get stock height they offer a Bil 4600 in the rear with either a standard or +35% spring and they do 5100's in the front."

It was a very long intro on the posting where the poster had done some research about maintaining the stock ride height, exactly what you wanted to do. I don't just tell people to search, I make sure they will find posts that will help.

I’ve tried looking for this same thing.

On the Jeep Gladiator forum, there are tons of discussions about putting springs from rubicons and Mojave’s models on lower end models to give them lift. Depending on what spring part #, it’ll give you “x” amount of lift over stock height.

It’d be nice to find out what spring part #’s/ram packages will give you additional height over the stock sl, express, or SLT.

Personally, sipped be interested in putting a little heavier duty springs on the rear and a pair to level out the front.

Thank you for the search. I couldn’t find anything related to the differences in heights. The issue I come across is when I’m looking for struts or coil overs from basic companies (Monroe), they always say “does not fit” or “nothing available” when entering that I have a Rebel. But when I choose another trim (ST, SLT, etc), it fits! I know Fox 2.0’s fit because those can be adjusted, however those are very pricey. Many posts say to just buy struts, springs, shocks, etc and not the “air delete kits” to save money. But again, Rebels seem to be the outliers.

Could I jump in on this one with question also regarding suspension differences?
I own a 2009 Laramie quad cab that has a leveling kit in the front. I have been buying up parts to upgrade the front and rear suspensions, ( springs, links, shocks and struts) i made the mistake of buying 5th gen parts and realized that the rear shocks are different. But i was told that the 5th gen struts and springs will give me a bit of extra lift. Now every time I go to make a buy on fb market place for shocks that look the same as my 4th gen shocks , (provision wise). I get stuck when I check the part number online saying that it's not compatible for my year. What's the deal with that ? Is it a brand thing just trying to corner a certain market so that other brands can have they piece of the pie? Bc my year 4th gen shocks have the two bushing fittings on both ends and every after market brand pending g on part number says it's a no fit even though it's the same provision.

See the two horizontal grooves halfway up the strut body? That's the difference between the two OE ride heights on 4wd, 4th gen Ram 1500's.
