The one I put the pic up of is the RP 10-48 so it is the 2013+ filter.

Yup the filter I put up is the one for pre 2013 4th gen Hemi.

If you look in the filters you can see a coil spring, most have coil springs If you buy quality. I have yet to see a mopar MO899 without a coil spring.

Just want to add my "Lifter Knock" experiance and what the dealer said today during a free oil change. I explained it in laymins terms for them and at first they had no idea what i was talking about. Then all the suddin they say " its normal, don't worry about it". I still got it noted on my record.

Its funny when somthing that isnt supposed to happen, happens enough times and nothing its done about it, society starts to accept it as "its normal".

"Normal" it is, but "ok" is a different story.

Hey guys what oil temps are you getting unloaded at hwy speeds, my amsoil 5-20 is getting up to 225 most times sets on 222 is this normal seems i noticed lower oil temps with 5-30

I've seen my Amsoil 5w30 as high at 217 but no higher than that. Of course the hottest it's been here is the high 70s...

Highway speeds with an OAT of 84°f just today after about 50 miles @ 70 mph my highest temp was 212 . That's actually the highest I've ever seen my oil temp.
I haven't paid too much attention to oil temps , only about the last year or so , but today's 212° is the highest I remember seeing .

I don't believe my 5W-30 ever got above 210

I wish I'd see 215 -220 ° out of my oil , I'm always concerned my oil isn't getting hot enough to burn off condensation .

I wouldn't think 225 or a little higher would be an issue .

I believe the Flashpoint for most automotive engine oils are 400+° f , I would think they wouldn't loose lubricity characteristics till 275+ or carbon up till high 300 s , just a guess on my part really , but I don't think 225 is an issue at all .

Mine is stock thermostat too today it was 92 degrees outside i was running 75-80 on interstate oil got as high as 226 coolant was 203-206, just wondering if this is normal operating ranges for the ram 5.7

I see that often. Here in Florida I can even see higher than that. I not concerned in the least

111F OAT here today, way above normal for June.
Only drove in town Rosedale highway@ 45 mph, 212F oil temp Max with 5w20 QSUD
If towing up 6% grade in summer here would prefer using 5w30 because oil temp will easily reach 230F
Too much for QSUD in my opinion.
According to 540rat blog the upper tlimit for QSUD is 260F where the oil looses lubricity.

Found this so sounds like 212-230 is the sweet spot to burn out the condensation also QSUD should be good above 260 being full syn oil. What Is The Optimum Engine Oil Temperature? - Hot Rod Magazine

540rat is constant!y testing the lubricity of new engine oil formulations and posts the results.
The breakdown temperature is included in the test results.
According to 540ratblog.worldpress.com, QSUD 5w20 was tested at 230F with high lubricity factor of 121 ksi
Then tested again at 275F with a drop of 23% in lubricity down to 92 ksi.
According to the 540rat blog, this oil showed an initial decrease in lubricity at 260F.
This oil tests really high in lubricity, one of the best on the market, this is the main reason for using it in my engine.
If the the 5w20 goes over 230F would then elect to go with QSUD 5w30.
This would only happen if towing something like an 18 ft boat & trailer up a 6% grade during the summer.
Have not noticed the temperature > 230F, even on the 7 mile 6% uphill grade frequency driven about three times\ week.
My normal operating temperature is 213-215F on flat ground.
