Couple morning's ago hit a moose while on my way to drop off my little man. He slept through the whole thing and is fine but the poor truck :'(
Waiting to hear back from the auto shop to see what the estimate is. Radiator got shoved pretty hard into the engine. Truck isn't drivable.

Putting a damper on my summer plans and my camshaft budget haha.

Good thing it didn't come through your windshield! That sucks, but the best news is the humans involved are ok

Man that sucks but thank god you were in a truck and I'm glad everyone is OK (aside from moose). Hope you have a good body shop who knows how to play the insurance co games. Been through two wrecks with my daughter's cars in past few months, both times they totaled the cars and both times I fought the insurance company and got 1K+ more than their original offers. Did your airbags deploy?

WOW!!! Glad everyone is ok. Are you possibly thinking about a grill guard after the repairs or replacement? Before we left for our 4 month Alaska vacation last summer, that was one of the first things I installed. Also, head lamp lens covers. Luckily, made it through 16k miles of pulling a 14k 5'er all over Alaska without even a chipped windshield. While we didn't really have any close encounters with an animal, sure felt better having a guard. Can mean the difference in driving away or waiting for a tow truck. Again, glad everyone is ok.

Glad everyone is OK, but hate to see the truck like that. Hopefully the repair process goes easy for you.

Dang, ranch bumper time.

Might want to bite the bullet and get that Cam in, perfect time to do it when everything is apart.

No Insurance?

Haha that's funny. I'll be sure to whisper that to the tech about the new camshaft.
No the airbags didn't deploy, I swerved around Mama Moose and her baby was hiding in the shadow of my headlights. Tagged it dead on and carried it a good while in my new grille delete kit.

As much driving as I do it was only a matter of time. Put 72K miles on this truck in 2 years from Snowmobiling and see tons a moose along the highways. Just flat out wasn't enough room on the road to avoid two moose.

Radiator has to come out to throw the cam in anyways, so lets just cut the labor cost in half. Done deal.

+1 on the ranch hand.

Also your color truck is one of the best looking IMO.

Thanks!!
Oddly enough there was a scratch on my hood and I didn't want to pay $650 to get it reshot and the rock dings taken out so now I get a whole new front end for my insurance deductible. #winning

I want to install that bad chicken myself Matt :happy107:
Tax return money better be enough to cover everything haha.

You didn't drag the moose carcass to the shop so they could pull the fan and shutters from the moose guts?? :roflsquared:
