I special ordered a 2022 F-150 Lariat from a dealer. I gave no down payment and the contract stated I could refuse the truck if I thought it took too long to deliver. The contract showed exactly what I would owe after my 2020 Lariat trade-in. When it came in I refused delivery because it was almost a year old. I have an appointment Tuesday to order a 2023 Lariat from the same dealer.

That’s how my Toyota order was, didn’t need a down payment and if I didn’t want it it was sold to the next person in line waiting for one as none were on the lots

I once owned a Burgandy 1962 Ford
I never liked the color & delmonico red is just as ugly

My current Ram was a factory order
I ordered a Red Ram, no one had even seen a 2 X 2 image of the color Delmonico Red, i figured Red is Red.
I never thought that Red was Burgandy

I repainted it very quickly
I think that color is very nice. It isnt Burgandy, its a little darker and imo looks sharp. What color did you paint it?

Keep in mind, i am in a business that requires that my vehicle is easily & quickly spotted. Semi Truck drivers & Highway Patrol have to spot me coming in their Mirrors
In other words i can not blend in.
I guess i could have painted it bright yellow, but then looking at that would have driven me crazy on a 8 to 10 hour day.

When i bought it

If i were to have to do it again, if that brilliant Blue that some FORDS have, may have been another choice, but it was not available in 2015

As a follow-up -- My salesman called and said if I didn't want to drive to the dealership, he would just order for me a 2023 Lariat with the same 2022 color, engine, accessories. ect. I told him to go ahead. Later I received an email from Ford saying my order for a 2023 Lariat had been placed.

Because he doesn't care if you ever pick it up. He'll mark it as refused and mark up the price and sell it. Dealer games...

I was pointing out that I have ordered a new truck every two years from the same salesman for the past 25 years. I consider myself lucky I met this salesman. We trust each other based on past trades. The entire car trading experience can be stressful, and many salesmen do play games.
