Taking off door panel?

Anyone ever taken off the panels the door in 02 dodge ram? Don't you have to take out the handles to completely remove the panel? If so, what tool did you find the easiest to do this with? I can't seem to get it off!!

On my 08 you have to pull the handle like youre opening the door, and then either stick a socket with an extension or a torx screw driver back there to get the handle off. With a light you should be able to easily see the screw you're looking for.

Yeah I've seen the nut that needs to go off but I just can't get to it

There's two screws, and then the handle bolt. One screw is on the pillar and the other one is in middle I think. And remember to unplug the switch

Use a 10mm socket on a 6" extension to remove the handle.

Panel alignment for reassembly can be pretty simple. Pop the lock-pull trim bezel out before reassembly and put lock in 'locked' position. Them take the entire panel and place bottom edge against door. Hold it out at a slight angle - anough to be able to look down between the panel and the door. Look at the lower mounting tabs and line them up with their corresponding slots on the door. Once they are lined up, tilt the panel up and in place. It should slide back into place pretty easily (as long as the lock bezel is off).

6" extension?? I have trouble getting a normal socket wrench with no socket on it in there. A&M I supposed to angle it?

Yep! Just needs to be long enough to fit past the handle and down into th panel.

I prefer to use 1/4" drive stuff for smaller jobs, but 3/8 will fit with no problem.
