I know there are some excellent techs out there: I have buddies at Ford and Mazda dealerships and friends at after market shops and a performance tranny shop who are very good.Do not have to remove your CAI. but sometimes while a vehicle is in we will check to see if there are any updates on any computer, and do them.
FYI if any question of the if there has been a tuner installed at any time we can check if one has been installed, even if you have returned the stock program back into the PCM. That being said, the dealership has to prove that a certain aftermarket device/add on etc. caused the prob. I have actually had a truck in with a drivability prob, he had a tuner on the dash. I called him and got him to come down and take it out so that nobody who doesn't need to know about it doesn't!!
Not all dealerships are "stealerships" as I take great pride in my work.
But the dealership gorilla who did my last oil change left two greasy paw prints on my hood and the service writer left off the tire rotation--these guys obviously are not your peers or equivalent.
It just occured to me I should check under the hood to ensure the filter isn't leaking and he didn't spill waste oil over everything--no burning smell so not too likley, but given performnace to date, noting would surprise me.
