Thanks for all the replies... definitely not new to the scene just to the Ram PW's. Coming from an IFS that large front pumpkin caught me off guard a few times (win for Carli did guard), which is really the only reason I'm leaning towards 37's. How did the BFG's fit? They typically run a little smaller, have to do much trimming?

Yes the BFG seem to run a little smaller and combined with the Katlas is why no trimming was needed. My KM3s measured 36.5x13.25 with 17x8.5" wheel and it went down to about 35.75" when on the truck. Check out all the AEV Prospectors with 37's....they all run 37x12.5 BFGs. I can't imagine they would sell an $80K+ truck where you would hear rubbing or loose turning radius....confirmed by Odin above.

My measurement could have been off a little...I have a new spare in the garage and recently measured it at 36.5" (which matches spec value) so I'm more confident in that measurement.

I'm still impressed these tires are so quiet but I only have 5K miles on them.

Yeah, I've got about 3k on mine also. But they are noticeable quieter than my Toyo MTs. Don't think I'll ever switch back. Be KM3 for life.

Thanks for the reply. Funny I was just on AEV's website and thought the same thing. The "base" Prospector comes with these tires so I'm sure they have done all the testing for them. The 37" KM3's have been what I'm leaning towards the last couple days. Thanks for confirming the "rubbing" aspect. Plus I've found just about every large tire shop carries these in stock, good for if you have a situation where you need a new tire and don't have to wait on an order.

Yes, but the AEV lift, much more work to install than a Thuren set up, also repositions the axle and I also think you have to add a spacer between the front axle flange and shaft (comes with kit). AEV kit requires cutting and welding.

Requires swapping the power wagon springs for regular 2500 springs too. Lame I think, unless you tow all the time.

I have a spare, granted its mounted on my bed rack but i wouldn't leave the blacktop or go on a long road trip without one. I found a sale tire at walmart and used my oem steel spare wheel. Im only in on my spare about $150. I also have a plug kit and compressor for pesky nails/screws2e841895bc48b604ed8579d4c1503847.jpg

I personally never ran anything smaller than 37s. I currently run 40s and will be upgrading to 44s here soon. I am running Milestar Patagonia MTs. I noticed at my shop that 37s are the new 35s and 40s are the new 37s.

I also run the KM3s in 37x12.5, which do run small. They occasionally slightly rub the rear of the front fender liner on the driver side. Eventually I am going to take the liner off and bend the pinch weld. I am going to try and heat the liner to make it more flat in that area.

As far as driving around I have lost some pep. Around town it is not that noticeable. I did notice it going over a summit recently with my UTV in tow. I am adding my four wheel camper next spring so for the extra weight will be regearing 4.56s.

Eta: I have Thuren 0.5" springs upfront with a heavier front bumper.

Its a Victory 4x4 universal rack. I like it, had a few issues initially with the cross bar near the cab being to short but they made it right and sent me an adjusted bar.

Where is your build page? I did not see one. You should definitely put one up for us.

The 12.5 is 65 lbs and the 13.5 is 81 lbs. so the 16 additional pounds of material that go into the tire is one factor.

But that completely contradicts what you are meaning to say...

Im thinking maybe due to the 12.5” wide being more popular. But I really have no clue.
