Line 'em up side by side and drag race them up against a 1500 with the 5.7 and especially 3.92 gears and you'll get your a** handed to you is what I meant. When most people think of power they think of acceleration. I'm not knocking the PW in any way, it is a great vehicle for its intended purpose but if you are used to driving a 1500 "pavement princess" that extra 2000 lbs is going to feel a lot different with only what 15 more HP and 20 more FT/lbs of torque to move it around. That 6.4 would need SRT power to make things equal. it all boils down to what your wants and needs are vs. expectations. That's why I said to take a good long drive in one before making a decision.
Maybe in the long run. But I think my new 2020 Power Wagon is faster off the line than the 2016 sport I traded in with the 5.7 and 3.92 rear end

Well having put the 8spd auto in there will certainly help a lot vs the older models with the RFE. Still not enough to offset the extra weight difference. Would love to see Ram upgrade the power levels across the board like Ford has. Ram needs to upgrade the 6.4 about 50 more cubic inches and get those power numbers up to where Fords new 7.3 gas engine is.

I also feel like my truck is way over spec'd for what I use it for, but I really like it. I bought one from a dealer that was ordered without the PW graphics package. I feel like I missed something there, but overall I love the truck! Someone made a great comparison to a 200mph super car. They will never fully utilize that either. I say life is short, drive what excites you. If I can get a little dopamine hit every time I fire it up and the magnaflow rumbles (on both of these), then I'm happy.

Make this comparison... How about the guys who buy very expensive sports cars that can top 200 MPH..? Where in this country can that car be driven to its' full potential? Perhaps the driver occasionally puts it on a race track. That could also be called foolish, but the guy has a car that can "blow the doors off" of any other car between stop lights... Wow, how impressive indeed!

I know quite a few guys with these super-powerful sport machines. They baby them on the streets. But on the weekends, they are at a local track that sells track time for them to open these cars up to their full potential. Quite fun, as I've ridden shotgun on a couple of these runs around the track. So, yes there is legal potential in the USA to own a hyper capable vehicle. Just like there are off-road areas where digging into the dirt with a truck at break neck speeds is also quite legal, not to mention real fun.

personally I think they look better without the cheesy power wagon decals on the sides of the bed. I like the hood decal but could live without it just fine.. I like how the 75th Anniversary edition PW does not have the bed decals.

There is a niche beyond rock climbing that the PW stands alone, off-road farm work. It may not be able to outrun a other trucks and it can’t out tow a diesel, but put 8,000 behind it and go off road and nothing will out perform it. Diesel is too heavy in the front end and the 1/2 just isn’t enough in the 4 wheel drive department. It’s a small niche but one that’s not advertised. And as for a commuter vehicle, it encourages other people to stay in their lane and get off their damn phone! So, two good reasons to justify a PW.

If I can make a request. Tradesman with Powerwagon Package. Any of the low volume colors...especially the greens, oranges and yellows. Get the towing technology package.

Thank you.
Unfortunately for you I'm hanging on to this one for a while.:driver:
Most capable vehicle I've ever owned! Got it to handle anything that comes up. Wheel it, tow it, winch it, pick up groceries in it, cruise it!IMG_20170715_231155.jpg

as long as you don't plan to tow a 5th wheel, or have heavy trailers, go for it. The towing stats will be very similar to what you have now (payload in the 15-1800lbs range), towing a little less, but I was scared towing a 10k travel trailer (37ft) anyway with my 1500, even though it was technically capable.

Gas mileage might be the bigger buzz kill, I have heard many time that the power wagon gets about 12-14 on a good day, vs. your hemi 1500 probably got 16-18, or even better if you have a light foot. for my Ram 1500, I saw 20-21 on the highway with cruise control at 75, but if I got fiesty, was around 15-16 mpg on my 1500.

For looks though, love it all day long - my use case was for a 5th wheel, so traded my trusty 1500 for a 2500. and price..... well, that is subjective, they are pricey, but if you think about all the mods you might do to get to the same look & capabilities, it is nice to get it built that way :)

Good luck & enjoy if you get it.
regards,
Josh

I got foolish with the "Power Wagon" decals also. My truck had the decaling omitted in the build, but I ordered the tailgate decal because I want the difference to be known on the road to another RAM driver that he's behind a POWER WAGON... Not just another ordinary RAM truck...! Now THAT'S vanity

I ordered my A75 before they had any images of what it would look like. I purposefully didn't omit the PW logos because I wanted it be a little loud, a little bit bold, a little bit in-your-face. It's a Power Wagon after all. This isn't supposed to be an exercise in subtlety.

I don't mind the tailgate decal as it is not in your face "screaming look at me I am driving a power wagon" some colors are worse than others as well. On black and crystal granite the decals are subdued and look fine, on billet silver they look cheesy.

So, I'm foolish for owning the most capable off-road truck straight off the factory floor that will yank the competition out the way from the mud or snow bank and then drive right past them. Foolish ? Not a chance. We buy these trucks because of the extreme capabilities and their past heritage.

I bet U R not parking that behemoth in any of the Casino garages, roflmao. I was in AC Sep 2018 with my "new MY 19 Bighorn, stock, not lifted, 18" tires". I measured later and see it sits just a sliver under 78" high at shark fin. NE way, tried to park garage at Caesars on the walk, and "BUMP", smacked that height Bar. I managed to find a place near Baileys and I was able to "JUST" get into the garage at Harrah's on the Marina. I worked at Harrah's in 1984, LMAO, lived in Mays Landing. Figure U could go out there and 4 wheel.

They were just too loud for me on the silver. I actually gave it 8 or 9 months to see if they would grow on me. Not my style. Ended up removing everything but the hood decal a couple weeks ago.
Bottom line is there is no right or wrong. People that like the decals can rock them loud and proud and those that don’t can remove them or get a truck without ‘em.

Oh no, I'd never try parking my PW in one of those garages. I don't go to that city either! I actually reside 20 miles north in the "wheeling woods". AC is only a landmark to me..! Thankfully there is still quite a bit of south Jersey woods left to explore.
