So I’ve had the Phoenix Automotive 12.1” Tesla Style Radio for about 8 months now and I just installed some Kicker CS2 speakers and I can’t get any bass in them at all. I tried both the audio equalizer and I tried the other settings that are under the “Console” menu option. No bass and actually it’s not changing the treble or anything. The only setting that changes anything is in the equalizer presets where I can select Rock, Vocal, Classical, etc.

What am I doing wrong here? Can someone help me with the settings, I tried changing a bunch of them and it didn’t matter what Hz k changed the settings too, it did nothing.

my random $0.02 thought..
Is it possible the polarity of the speakers is reversed on some of the new speakers. This can cause an a lack of bass, I would suspect this if sounds better with the truck doors open.

Hmmm... interesting. However I used the adapter cables from Metra and the new speakers had red and black caps on the connectors but I will definitely take off the panels and try to reverse the polarity and see what happens.

Question. How would opening the door make the speakers sound better?

If the speakers are wired out of phase, it acts similar to how noise canceling headphones work. The sound waves playing
180° out of phase from each other cancel each other out. Opening the doors reduces the sound waves from canceling each other out.
