Looking to upgrade to the Tesla Style Radio... Anyone have feedback on either the Linkswell or Phoenix style setups? Good / Bad and any features to stay away from.

To piggy back what SitKneelBend said Linkswell is a decent company with good customer service. If anything happens with their system they’ll be happy to assist you. It also has AppleCarPlay, which is a nice upgrade to do without having to mess around with the OEM set up.

Did they ever get it to control oem settings....lights, locks, horn etc?

Also does the back up cam still need a special adaptor?

Lack of plug and oem settings deterred me in the past

I can attest to the Phoenix which I purchased their PX6 for my truck in 2019. It supposedly had the latest droid OS and was also supposed to be plug n' play. What a freakin nightmare dealing with them. They expect you to jump through the hoops after you receive the radio. So many glitchy youtubes they provide along with sheer lack of intelligible english. After I got it installed, the only thing that worked was the GPS was detected and FM radio stations. Nothing else. It took several emails to finally make a video-chat appointment with a obscure video app I had to install on my phone. The guy that called had such broken english that talked too fast. I tried to get him to slow down, but he refused. In a 90+ degree truck, he walked me through so many settings which I couldn't for the life of me remember anything... then it all worked. He put me on the spot and said, "anything else?". I had zero time to check out anything except I put the truck in reverse to ensure the backup camera was working... I said, "no." WHAT a mistake that was. I had a zillion questions and some features still didn't work or I was misunderstanding. I complained to the company and they just wrote back that I had my opportunity to video chat with their specialist. I sold the truck shortly after, but I will NEVER deal with that company or products ever again! It was a nightmare. Just my 2 cents.

I have heard this several times about Phoenix. That is why I bought a Linkswell from ADC Mobile. I am waiting for it to arrive next week, but Linkswell and ADC both have great reviews and reputations. I am replacing my 5 inch Uconnect crap radio with this and can't wait to see the difference. I considered going to the 8.4 Uconnect, but it is impossible to find the right part numbers and the cost was exactly the same, so I took a bit of a leap went Linkswell. Anyone else considering this, please purchase through ADC Mobile in Washington. The owner, Walt, personally uses this brand and has been doing this for 44 years. He answers the phone when you call and gives great advice and service. I have even texted with him!

Great. I considered Linkswell back when I was looking and I found that they mostly use older versions of the droid operating system. Although the versions they used were sound, it did limit you on newer apps. This is what I heard which turned me away. Perhaps Linkswell improved on that...
