Hello,

First timer here. I have a 18 1500 with the 8.4 Nav system. Since the update my notification volume and voice for VR is extremely loud. When it's mid notification I turn the volume down but the level doesn't stay down it defaults back to the loud volume. Is there anyway to change the default volume? I have tried adjusting through the settings in the Nav and it didn't affect it.

Same problem, all speed nags, directions, and bumper sensors are twice as loud as the radio music. Cannot figure out how to quiet them down.

There is a flash coming out for the fix. Uconnect is aware of the issue and addressing. Funny though, my 2017 works fine.

I heard it goes back to loud because UConnect is reading that off your phone.. as your phone ringer is set to be loud. But I can't confirm that.

So I doubt there would be an update for the RA2 for this. I'll have to test out if it uses the phones volume. That would make sense.

I’ve tried adjusting the volume on my phone but it didn’t help the VR, only the actual call itself.

I've tried turning down volume on phone. Turning down nav volume, I roll the dial back Everytime a text comes thru or I hit the VR but and nothing sticks. Hopefully they come up with something. Only other possible fix I could think of is flash the UConnect System.

+2 on the volume issue. I had my wife call me in my truck while I adjusted volume on my phone & truck before a call, during a call. No joy. I've got the 8.4 with no NAV in my 2018. It has not received the UConnect update of death....yet. So the issue is not caused by the UConnect update.

Seen posts in other forums where 8.4 in 5th gens are having the same issue. RamCares encouraged the owner to call UConnect support. Shockingly, they could not resolve the issue.

Saw another post that said to hit the VR button and while the nice lady is talking, you can turn the volume knob to lower volume. Tried that and yes, the volume could be turned down, but returned to its pre-existing loud state after exiting or a call came through.

Hope someone else has info to help.

Yep same issue. It's so loud I mute the step by step turns and just glance at the display using the visual steps.

I have been discussed this issue with my dealer and with UConnect Customer care. They both insist that if, during a call, I turn the volume down to a comfortable level the UConnect system will remember that setting and next time I receive a call it will play the phone call at the lower, comfortable level.

Of course, all of us experiencing this knows it is not happening the way they describe it should be happening.

I did not have this problem with my 2015 Big Horn.

I does not matter if I'm plugged into the USB port and using Android Auto, or if I'm not on Android Auto and using the UConnect system. Uncomfortably loud voice responses. I have to turn my volume down to 1 or 2.

I have not noticed overly loud parking sensor beeps, however.

Hmmm, gonna have to go out and see. I have the paired down UConnect 4 (No Uconnect aps/no Nav) with no 911 etc, all bound into Sirius and (AppleCarPlay/Android) ready. Will report back if I hear (see) an issue.
