Bought a pair of oem fog lights, finally. Now I'm waiting on them, shouldn't be too long now. I ordered them Monday. I should get them by Tuesday, I think. But then again I waited 3 weeks for tails. So I'm not sure, and thoughts on best hids?

Also, I am getting a stubby antenna from a member here, should be getting that soon.

I wont use anything but 55w Digital HID from retrosolutions (JJs supplier). Ive used them a TON of times with no complaints. Im told that HID in factory housings need caps for the HIDs and they can do that for you. I like 3000k(yellow) for the fogs. Makes driving in bad conditions much better(fog, snow, rain, etc...).

Yeah. I like them too, mainly because I can get a discount. If I get a discount, I will only use them.

So the 3000k is better than the 6000k?

3k will be yellow. 6k will have a hint of blue. My lights are 6k.

I use 6000K top and bottom, Sam. They do look a bit blue. 5,000K seems to be the top end for white light.

Here is one of the RetroSolutions economy kits, 35W, slim ballasts, that will work on the fogs:

35W ECONOMY SEMI-SLIM HID KITS - Retro-Solutions Store

Just fill in the bulb type you need, the color you want and the rest of the info.

If you aren't sure about anything, call them!

don't forget to use code "JJ" to get 10% off of most items (economy kits aren't in that group though, sorry!)

Actually 3K has the MOST lumens (brightest) but since it is yellow most people don't go for that. 4300 is the next, but most prefer a 5 or 6. I love my 5Ks in my heads. Its the ****!

Yeah, I used it and I didn't get a discount until I tried night vision.

And yellow Looks kinda goofy IMO.

I have the Retro Solutions 6K 55w versions in my headlights and fogs.

The night vision is amazing with them.

I did not like the 5k's at all,too bright and too white for my tastes.I'd like to go higher but am afraid to draw anymore attention to the truck when driving than it already gets.

the reason why people use 3000k in the fogs is it help you see in bad conditions. They way your brain filters the images from your eye when everything is yellow it works out a lot of the "fuzz" like snow, rain, fog. I also think the yellow is suppose to "cut" threw fog, snow better somehow. I love 3000k fogs. I have them with 6000k heads.
