Hey guy would like to upgrade my 2018 2500 Ram from quads to the projector headlights. Which ones are the best to get?

Well, if you're looking for an aftermarket version of the factory lights, I'd suggest TYC. They are almost indistinguishable from the factory lights at about 1/3 the price. You'll need to get an adapter harness though if your truck has factory quads.

Running TYC myself. I have a Laramie and wanted blacked out lights so I got the TYC. I found them to have better cutoff than the OEM.

Honestly even though they have some issues with errors, the Alpharex headlights are on top right now ... Check them out

JJ's TYC builds......great lights.

I had stock duals and went stock TYC, much better. Didn't add the coin to get them built tho.

I would say that depends fully on which ones you get. I have the gen 1 in a box in my garage. They were horrible with HID, and the LED bulbs did not project far enough down the road to be useful (actually felt dangerous driver over about 45-50 mph because I was outdriving my lights). They look great, but only lasted about a week in my truck. Back to the TYC I went.

I missed the original convo about your experience with this. Could you link me or brief me on why your G1 were horrible with HID bulbs? I have HID's in my factory projectors which I'm well aware are not the same projector. Did they use an H1 or H7 style projector vs the 15 9012 bulb I used? I'm wondering if maybe just effort would bring those bad boys to life if at all possible.

Again I've never had my hands on any of the aftermarket lights. I specifically got my truck with factory projector headlights with the idea I would have HID's. After my purchase and ignorance I realized work still needs to be done.

With enough research I used the proper equipment to get my HID up and running. They surpassed every expectation I had. The only reason I would get aftermarket is for the 2019 look or because I'm reluctant to fight with permaseal.

I realize headlights are a major deal with these trucks. Thinking out loud one would need to have a couple truck variations that they own to physically and schematically to see the differences between them. Then engineer the non led truck to led simplified.

I've got HID (9012) in my TYC and they're perfect. I only bought the Alpharex because I liked the way they looked and I liked the DRL feature. They use H7 bulbs, and the projector's socket where the bulb goes is set so that the locking tab on the bulb sits at about 2:00 instead of 12:00. As a result, the return wire on the bulb is not at 6:00, and I could never get the beam pattern to be anything better than dismal. My drivers side had literally zero hotspot. I tried to create a new alignment tab on the bulb base to allow me to rotate the bulb to where the return wire was at 6:00, and while it helped a little, they still were very much insufficient. I tried 3 different brand bulbs (innovited - which had a green hue, Morimoto and Headlight Revolution) and 2 different ballasts (Innovited 35w and Hylux 45w). I've been using the Hylux 45w ballasts with morimoto bulbs in my TYC with great results. I think the only way the alpharex will make it back into the truck is if I retrofit them with better projectors (which is apparently a nightmare and requires custom fabricating mounting brackets), or if they make a LED bulb that actually projects. With the LED bulbs I had in the m (Hikari Ultra and Katana), the cutoff was perfect, and at close range, the beam pattern (hotspot, brightness, etc) was amazing. Unfortunately, LEDs just do not project for **** in projectors.

I've got several posts about it all in the "who has tried the modifystreet headlights" thread, but that thread is a couple thousand posts I think, so it would take some digging to find them.

Any adjustments that can be done to get this step out of my view as I recently installed a TYC projector headlight and LED bulb. It’s very annoying

A little late and Inexperienced, I chose the Alpharex LED Projector Headlights !

I didn't know where to go but these worked out well.
Plenty of light, great DRLs, and look great.

I went with a black background but clear lenses.

O also got the Alpharex LED Taillights... something different, other than OEM LEDs.
