I have one of those electric fans coming and I'm going to add a 180 thermostat. I see the so called performance stats are very expensive anyone know how's thermostat is in that remarked box.
I'm guessing those performance stat companies aren't really building there own.

What's a performance Tstat? Sounds like blinker fluid...

Duralast 180* tstat item number 4128 is all you need. Basically everything else is just reboxed.

Why do people give a crap answers to a simple honest questions.
You know a performance stat that would be the ones they are charging $40 for. I'm guessing those are some other brand you can by somewhere for $10-15.
I have read that some of those cheap parts store ones don't open when they are advertised to.

The Motorad/CST/JET 180 stat runs about 185*. For a daily driver that is perfect. If you are serious about running your truck at the track, I would take it a step further and run a 170* stat which will run about 175*.

I run a 180* in my daily driver, and 170* in the shop truck.

I have a JET 180* stat in my center console...been there for about 8 months. Is it worth putting in? I was told it was a bad idea for driving in cold conditions so I never installed it. Probably a stupid question but everywhere I go I find mixed opinions about them.

Any thermostat that costs more than about $10-$15 is a waste of money. Get the duralast part. Opens at about 185 (or a 170). DOnt waste on a Jet

You will probably throw a engine light when it's cold out. Mine does.
I ran mine again this winter when it got down into the 20s and never had any problems.

Yes I know 20s aint that cold to you Canadians, but it's miserable down here. lol

We saw the -20s this past winter, not so sure installing it would be worth the gains haha.

Honestly I really don't know if it's goin to help in really cold weather. You'r trucks going to heat up to the 200*+ with the stock but damn if it's -20. It might run a little cooler than stock.

I got a Motorad from Rock auto for $14. I sure looks just like a Jet.
