local dealer got some tradesmen 6.4’s in with the new body style and man it’s tempting to trade my 14 6.4 in. But i probably will wait a little while since I’m only at 130,000 miles on this thing! I wanna see if I can make it to 200k. How many others are feeling the same way I am? Lol

As much as I'd like the new transmission. ..and the new truck, my 15 is paid for and has the maxcare lifetime warranty. Could never justify a new one that I can't get the warranty on now.

Mine is a 17 and just rolled over 12k. It isn't my primary vehicle but those 19s are really growing on me especially the interior.

I personally am not a fan of the new front end. The interior is nice on the higher trim levels but I’m pretty happy with my 2018 PW with the luxury package as well. Don’t think I’ll be looking at getting a new HD till the actual 5th gen comes out with the new body, and hopefully re-refreshed front end...

I think this one is pretty sharp:

right there with ya buddy I wasn't really digging the 5th gens they look like a upgraded 4th gen to me well the 3/4 tons do until I drove one with the 6.4 8 speed an was really liking it, my 16 has been damn good to me though with no problems so I'll keep for as long as I can

I regret selling my 2011 for my 2017 since my high miler was more reliable so I'm not looking to upgrade for at least a couple more bug fix years.

I saw some 19s on a local dealers lot. They are nice but I prefer the styling of my 17 more. I like the cross hair front grille and body style of the 4th gen better but that's just me. I'd love the 8 speed no question but that's not enough to tempt me to trade.

Watch out for the "high mileage" hit on trade-in value.

I made the mistake of test driving the 2019 Limited. I loved my 2016 (paid off) Laramie with 24K miles. I made the trade and haven't looked back. It is so nice down to the point of the shifter rotates smoother and quieter. So many improvements.

My boss has a new 2019 limited--gorgeous interior-but he still likes to borrow my 2012 Bighorn for deliveries. Thats OK cause I get to drive his. He says he he likes driving mine because its like his old one. OK with me because we are putting on similar mileage. I think he misses his 2012. I love my 2012 Bighorn too-Its not as plush as the new RAM with the huge screen and panoramic roof etc "gorgeous" interior--but kick down the skinny pedal and its the same HEMI and puts a smile on my face. I'm totally tempted as well due to the 8spd tranny. I really don't care about styling and whatnot but the tranny in my 2014 pretty much sucks donkey balls when towing heavy.

I agree but let's face it, you can maintain the RFE yourself more easily than the 8-speed box now behind the 6.4. Cold comfort, you may say, but it's also been around so long the mods for improved performance are available, too. Still, one thing the older tranny will never have is better fuel efficiency than the 8-speed and with a thirsty 6.4 in front of it, that's something.

As for me, I've took both new '18 and '19 2500s with 6.4s and I'm still deciding. The older ones are cheaper, of course, and rapidly disappearing from dealer lots. I know the new combo is better, but with clearing our new property and putting a barn and house (yes, in that order) on it will require some funding. Also, I've found it hard to jump into a Tradesman from a Rebel -- which I'd have to do if I were to get a new rig -- as there's something about all this new tech that make driving, well, better.
