Hey guys, installed the 2 12" Alpine type RS with the ported Fox box
and Taramps HD 3000... No rattling after I tuned everything and it's amazing. Now my wife wanted a lil system so I put in a 10" Alpine X in a ported box in her avenger... Freaking thing rattles like Michael J fox. I narrowed it down to where it's coming from but I'm gonna need some really thick dynamat or something to absorb all that ****... Other than gluing a couch cushion to it, what's out there? Btw, when I did my ram it was my first ever install so I don't know much about this stuff and all help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like all you're batteling is resonances. So all you need is some butyl based deadener to tame it down a bit. No need to do all three steps for the wife's car.
I always use Stinger Road Kill...in my searches and having used a bunch of different stuff, Stinger is a very happy medium when it comes to price and it is great stuff. Much cheaper than Dynamat and works just as well. I'd stay away from the cheap Noico stuff from Amazon. Their 80mil stuff is no where near Stinger (& others) 80 mil deadener...I've compared and its crap

FWIW Ive emailed back and forth with the guy that owns SDS and he said RAMs are actually pretty decent from the factory in regards to vibration dampening. They could use some help in the 2nd and 3rd layers, though.

There are products out there that have both of those layers in one (Second Skin Luxury Liner Pro) to save some work but they cost more of course.

I was looking into stuff like this to try and tame the annoying 2K RPM "buzz" I get in the gas pedal, floorboards and steering wheel but have not had the time to deal with it just yet.

SDS CLD tiles are great. I've also used their CCF and butyl rope. If you use the tiles, wear gloves. The foil layer will cut the heck outta you.
